I would totally play the cat MMO! Who wouldn’t want that? It’s like Sims online, only you play as your pet (or Nintendogs from the dog’s point of view).
I won’t touch on furries (there’s plenty of that or Second Life), but why no social MMO game where you can play as an animal? Cat/Dog/Bird, whatever. Animals naturally have different abilities… avatars would be highly customizable (breeds, coloration, stripes, spots). Let people make their own pets, then go out in the world and meet other pets. Heck, people use pets in RL as an ice-breaker already… cut out the middle man.
The ball-fetching, frisbee, and territory-marking minigames would be endless.
I would play the cat game (or at least download the demo and run around).

Cute, better than most game-directed satire.
And yet another reminder that “not enough ideas for games” is not what’s wrong with this industry.

Gordon is right, I would totally download that Cat MMO demo while I was waiting for WoW to load. I might even get around to deleting it if I ran out of disk space, like when I needed to install another WoW addon, or something.

Well, I do think that would be the business model: free to try; some sort of premium subscription or item purchasing. Here are people making a go of it with plushies and penguins:
