This is totally off-topic, but…

The State Department’s passport status line just kept me on hold for four hours, and then hung up on me.

Passport renewal has devolved into serious chaos at this point.  If you are thinking of traveling overseas as soon as one year from now, and you’ll need a passport renewal, apply NOW.  If you need one in less than four months and haven’t applied yet, drop me a line– there are some things you need to know about applying.

    ugh. At least you have exotic travel plans!

    this reminds me, I gotta apply for Alex’s birth certificate! It’s also a strangely slow process if you don’t have time to go down to City Hall and wait in line.

    I just found out that travel to Palau is usually fine if you can prove US citizenship– just a birth certificate. It’s the second leg, Yap, that’ll mess up that plan.

    My current tactic is contacting Nancy Pelosi’s office. We’ll see how that goes….
